Abusive Mushroom

Abusive Mushroom è un progetto che ho sentito e voluto profondamente per poter contrastare alcune proposte espositivi delle gallerie.

Sono convinto che gli artisti e i galleristi non sono riusciti a essere uniti nel grande cambio avvenuto con l’arrivo della realtà virtuale del web e il risultato é stato un grande circuito di selezioni e proposte espositive a dei costi improponibili (problema esistente anche nel mondo della musica e della letteratura).

A questo sistema ho voluto rispondere con il mio progetto Abusive Mushroom, un circuito personale per garantire all’arte spazi ed eventi liberi da logiche commerciali. Dal 2011 ho deciso di dedicare tempo e risorse ad una forma speciale di esposizione: la “semina dei funghi”. Realizzo opere che hanno come soggetto il fungo (simbolo che disegno da quando sono bambino) e le consegno allo spazio urbano in giro per il mondo. Ho iniziato ad “abbandonare” le mie opere nelle capitali europee e, dal 2013, il circuito è diventato intercontinentale. L’opera abbandonata è accompagnata da un mio scritto in cui il lettore viene nominato Proprietario del fungo e Collezionista per caso. A lui chiedo di raccontare il suo incontro con la mia arte sul sito www.abusivemushroom.com, in cui sono documentati tutti gli abbandoni.

Nel progetto, in un secondo tempo, é stato inserita anche la fotografia. La sezione fotografica aggiunge un altro simbolo al progetto, si tratta del modello Adam, un ragazzo trans, una metafora della caratteristica dei funghi che non sono ne vegetali (no fotosintesi), ne animali.

Dietro questa forma di “movimento dell’arte” si sta sviluppando una rete di relazioni forti, come raccontano le storie sul web.

Il progetto per il futuro di Abusive Mushroom è quello di stare nel mondo ed interagire con esso per almeno altri dieci anni, per fare rumore, vivendo alla giornata e promuovendo questa particolare forma di “lotta bianca”.

Estoy convencido que los artistas y los galeristas no han sido capaces de estar unidos en el gran cambio acontecido con la llegada de la realidad virtual web. El resultado ha sido un gran circuito de selecciones y propuestas expositivas con unos costes improponibles ( problema que también existe en el mundo de la música y de la literatura).He querido replicar a este sistema con mi proyecto Abusive Mushroom, un circuito personal para garantizar al arte los espacios  y eventos libres de lógica comercial. Desde el 2011 he decidido dedicar tiempo y recursos a una forma especial de exposición:  la “semina dei funghi” (siembra de las setas en español). Realizo obras que tienen como sujeto la seta (símbolo que suelo dibujar desde mi infancia) y las entrego al espacio urbano alrededor del mundo. He empezado a “abandonar” mis obras en las capitales europeas y, desde el 2013, el circuito se ha hecho intercontinental.

La obra abandonada  se acompaña de un escrito que designa al lector como Propietario de la Seta y Coleccionista por casualidad. A él pido de contar su hallazgo de la obra en la página www.abusivemushroom.com, donde están documentados todos los abandonos.

En un segundo tiempo en el proyecto se ha añadido también la fotografía. La sección fotográfica añade otro símbolo al proyecto, se trata del modelo Adam. Un chico trans. Una metáfora de la característica de las setas que no son ni vegetal ( sin fotosíntesis ) ni animal.A raíz de este “movimiento artístico” se está desarrollando una red de relaciones sólidas, como cuentan las historias en la web.

El proyecto futuro de Abusive Mushroom es estar en el mundo e interactuar con él por al menos otros 10 años, para hacer ruido, viviendo el día a día y promoviendo esta particular forma de “lucha pacífica”.

Welcome to Abusive Mushroom Project, a project that I started in order to contrast some of the exhibition proposals in art galleries.

I am convinced that artists and gallerists have not been able to be united in the great change that occurred with the arrival of web virtual. The result has been a great circuit of selections and exhibition proposals with unforeseeable costs (a problem that also exists in the world of music and literature).

My project is a response to this system. It aims to emphasize that we, the artists, know the true value of art and should focus on art for art’s sake.

Abusive Mushroom is, therefore, my own personal journey designed at providing art spaces and events, free of commercial constraints. Since 2011, I have dedicated time and resources to a special form of exhibition: “la semina dei funghi” (literally, “the planting of mushrooms”). I create works of art whose subject is a mushroom (a symbol that I have been drawing since my childhood) and I deliver them to urban areas around the world. I began by “dropping” my works in European capital cities and from 2013 went global.

The abandoned artwork comes with a letter designating the reader as the ‘Owner’ of the Mushroom and turning him/her into an ‘Accidental Collector’. I ask them to explain how they found the artwork on the www.abusivemushroom.com website, where I document every piece I drop.

Later in the project, photography has also been added. The photo section adds another symbol to the project, it is the model Adam. A trans boy.. A metaphor of the characteristic of mushrooms that are neither vegetable (without photosynthesis) nor animal.

A network of strong relationships has grown around this “artistic movement”, as evidenced by the stories published on the website.

The Abusive Mushroom project will interact with the world for at least another 10 years, its aim being to create a stir and promote this form of non-violent protest
